Website Vendor Name Autodesk, Inc Technolgy Type Online Available in DORA Available in Software Center not reported Description Tinkercad is a free web app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. It is designed to build STEAM confidence by bringing project-based learning. This app was featured at the Auburn Tech Connect conference as a tool for 3D design of a project in the library. the 3D design is the "blueprint" that students can use to build a hands-on model using a variety of tools and products to accomplish a task and enhance collaboration and communication through teamwork. It provides creativity, critical thinking skills, and problem solving. Tinkercad would be used as a companion to other coding programs such as Hour of CODE in the library and it would also offer the engineering and design aspect. It would not be used as core curriculum, only as a supplemental lesson to STEAM activities in the library. | IT Approved not reported Teaching & Learning Approved not reported LSS / Assistive Tech Approved not reported CTE Approved not reported CAC Approved not reported |
