Tinkercad is a free web app for 3D design, electronics, and coding. It is designed to build STEAM confidence by bringing project-based learning. This app was featured at the Auburn Tech Connect conference as a tool for 3D design of a project in the library. the 3D design is the "blueprint" that students can use to build a hands-on model using a variety of tools and products to accomplish a task and enhance collaboration and communication through teamwork. It provides creativity, critical thinking skills, and problem solving. Tinkercad would be used as a companion to other coding programs such as Hour of CODE in the library and it would also offer the engineering and design aspect. It would not be used as core curriculum, only as a supplemental lesson to STEAM activities in the library.

Tinkercad is used in the Auburn School District and I was told it was free to setup student accounts and does not collect student information. (Much like Hour of CODE) Tinkercad website has free tutorials and resources for teachers.
